LG G3 specs, review, release date and price
G decided to launch a new smartphone G3 and here is the LG G3 specs, review, release date and price. Having earned the "Gadget of the Year" award in Stuff Gadget Awards (2013), the LG G2 has another sequel coming up this year. LG G3 is the year's one of the most awaited smartphone, following an impressive lineup of features that have been speculated.
The biggest hype comes from the fact that this LG G3 would have a fingerprint scanner. Till now only Apple and HTC have tried bringing out this feature.
LG G3 specs, review, release date and price:
A brief summary of features reported in LG G3 are-
A 1440 * 2560p QHD display of 5.5 inch.
Octa-core Odin processor.
16 MP rear camera with OIS technology.
Fingerprint scanner.
Keeping in mind the possible release of Samsung S5, LG has brought out some of the finest technologies to its aid. Some of the features claimed by leaked reports from a Korean site are as follows.
The Display
The LG G3 will sport a 5.5 inch screen compared to a 5,2 inch display of LG G2. It also has a stunning resolution of 1440 * 2560p Quad HD (QHD). The pixel density is 531 ppi. This display is far ahead in clarity and technology from S5 or HTC Butter fly (1080p).
Performance:
LG G3 will have its own Octa-core Odin processor, instead of the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor. This processor would imply 4 Cortex-A15 cores of 2.2 GHz each and 4 Cortex-A7 cores of 1.7 GHz each. Such processing would result in a longer battery life time due to division of tasks among 4 cores.
Camera:
According to the leaked reports, the LG G3 will sport a 16 MP rear camera. The predecessor LG G2 had Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that ensured the low light performance of the camera. The LG G3 is expected to inherit OIS too.
Also the reports claim 4K recording support in LG G3. Despite the fact that the Snapdragon 805 was capable of a 4k recording, it was dismissed on the accounts of storage insufficiency. This time, though with a quad-core processor, storage wouldn't be a problem.
Operating system:
Possible chances are that the LG G3 would run on Android OS version 4.4 KitKat. Also it would be easy to assume that LG G3 would have the company's own user interface, namely LG Optimus UI. While also including the recent technology name KnockOn for unique styles of turning the smartphone on or off when the screen is off.
Fingerprint Scanner:
After iPhone 5s, Galaxy S5 and HTC One Max, LG G3 will be another smartphone with fingerprint scanning feature. This rumour in fact has solid grounds for consideration. The LG executives themselves slipped off that they would consider applying this technology.
Release date and Price:
The rumours claim that the release date is around May or June. One possible reason could be to allow better competition with the upcoming Galaxy S5, HTC One, and Sony Xperia Z2.
There are no solid rumours about the cost as of yet. However looking at the size of phone we are talking about, it ain't going to be cheap!
